After two years when the show has had to be cancelled due to Covid, Saturday 6th August is the date for this year’s annual Flower and Produce Show and everyone, young and old, entrants and visitors are welcomed and invited to this special village event.

As usual the main Flower Show will be in the marquee on the playing field which will be full of wonderful vegetables, flowers, home baking and arts and crafts. Within the schedule there is an excellent choice of
classes for adults and children and we do urge those of you who have not entered in the past to ‘have a go’ as the more entries we get the better the show will be.

Teas, coffees and excellent cakes will be available in the main hall.

The Scrap Heap Challenge will take place on Wednesday 3rd August and this is where adults and youngsters can create their masterpieces, each hoping to achieve Scrap Heap glory and win a cup. View details here.

On the sports field there will be plenty of excitement including the children’s sports and of course the tug of war.

As a special attraction we will have Llamas at the Village Show. Belas Knap and Mulfra Quoit from Barford Llamas will be attending the Show for families to meet and admire.

There will be a car boot sale plus a produce stall, bar and a great raffle. There will also be a chance to renew your village hall lottery subscription, which is essential to maintain this community asset.

We would particularly like to thank all the local businesses who have supported the Show either by donations or practical help. Thanks must also go to Malcolm Williams for the use of his field for
parking.

Whether as an exhibitor or visitor, the organisers really hope that you have an enjoyable time at the Summer Show on the 6th August.

Produce and Plants Stall

As part of the Summer Flower Show it is proposed to have a Produce and Plants Stall. So, if you have any spare house or garden plants, flowers, fruit or vegetables which are surplus to your requirements,
why not bring them along, ideally before 1.30 on the day of the show. We will sell these to raise funds for future Flower Shows. Alternatively, please ring Tony Donnelly on 671245 to discuss or arrange collection.

Help Needed For Next Year’s Shows

If you would be interested in helping to put on next year’s Spring and Summer shows in any capacity, please ring Sally Foxhall on 671027 or Nick Rigden on 671376 for a chat. New people are needed to keep the
show going.

Spaxton Village Hall Lottery

This is a chance for people to either renew or purchase new tickets. The lottery raises funds for the running of the village hall. Six cash prizes are awarded each month. The draw takes place at the end of each month at a public Spaxton venue. The cost is £20 per year per ticket for 12 monthly draws.
