Potatoes in buckets

If you have purchased your seed potato, thank you for entering Spaxton Village Show’s “Container Potato Growing Challenge”.

You have purchased a pre-chitted (ready to plant) seed potato and paid for entering your container and potatoes into the Village Show on Saturday 7th August 2021 (exhibits must be in place by 10:45).

  • You may purchase more than one seed potato and enter more than one container BUT only one seed potato per container is allowed.
  • The maximum container size you must use to grow your potatoes in is 15 litres.
  • You must plant only the seed potato you have been given.
  • Any growing medium and any means of cultivating your potatoes are permitted.
  • Before you bring your potato container to the Village Show please cut off the foliage.
  • Bring your complete container with the potatoes still in the growing media to the Village Show on Saturday 7th August between 08:30 and 10:45 am, please ensure your name is on the container.
  • You do not need to complete a show entry form or pay an exhibitor fee for this class.
  • We will empty out your potatoes and the judge will weigh them.
  • The competitor with the highest weight of potatoes will receive the cash prize at the afternoon prize giving ceremony.  The judge’s decision is final.
  • Please take your container and potatoes home with you after the show finishes.
